From Speaker for the Dead and the later books in Orson Scott Card’s Ender series. I have mixed feelings about her. I love her and I find her obnoxious at the same time. Honestly, *SPOILER ALERT (for… Children of the Mind? I think)* SHE BECOMES A NUN AFTER MARRYING ENDER??? Ouch. I mean seriously.
Ender: FML, my wife’s a nun.
Gotta feel for the guy. His life sucks. (I KNOW I have some sketches out there on this subject… must find them…)
Anyway, my mental image of Novinha has evolved quite a bit. First, I imagined her very old and tired looking. Haha. Then — not so much. I’ll try and scrounge up my different versions, but here is one of the “not so much” quick sketches:
P.S. I keep trying to find a way to sneak her into my bigger Enderverse piece… but she’s just not cooperating.

I always had a younger image for her. That being said, over the course of the story, she ages quite a bit (and my mental image of her is largely from when Ender first sees her before even going to whatever that planet was called again).

I for some reason did the exact opposite: I imagined her very jaded and worn looking in the beginning, even though she was younger. But then I think she gets sort of revitalized through Speaker for the Dead, so I guess I just imagined her healthier looking, not necessarily younger.
Unless you count of course when she first calls for a speaker. Then I thought of her as very youthful.
